Self-care workshops for humanitarian workers
Published on

As part of the Hope, Healing & Resilience-Building for Gaza project, the Center for Mind-Body Medicine concluded its first Self-Care Workshop, bringing together 20 humanitarian professionals from international and local organisations, over three consecutive days of six training hours each.
The workshop aimed to strengthen service providers’ ability to manage psychological stress with practical, easy-to-learn self-care skills. It included interactive sessions in large and small groups on the principles of the Mind-Body approach, with hands-on practice in breathing, movement, meditation, guided imagery and drawing.
Participants received certificates at the close and expressed their appreciation for the experience and its positive impact on their psychological and physical well-being, noting how it differed from trainings they had attended before.
The workshops are open to staff of every specialty, not only psychologists. Each organisation nominates one staff member, and organisations that register first are given priority.
